Amanda Kelty returns to Meadowbrook as new principal

The Walled Lake Consolidated Schools’ Board of Education appointed Amanda Kelty the new principal at Meadowbrook Elementary during its June 18, 2026 meeting. Her first day will be Monday, August 3.
“It is with great excitement and heartfelt gratitude that I have been named the new principal at Meadowbrook Elementary,” said Kelty. “I have been blessed to be a part of Walled Lake Consolidated Schools for the past twenty years.”
Kelty returns to her Mustang roots, where she started her educational career two decades ago. Kelty spent 18 years at Meadowbrook Elementary teaching multiple grade levels and served as the literacy interventionist for upper elementary students.
“I am truly honored to serve a community that has always held a special place in my heart,” said Kelty. “The deep roots and relationships built over the years have given me a profound appreciation for the pride, traditions and commitment that make Meadowbrook such an extraordinary place.”
Kelty bring leadership experience back to her former building most recently serving as the student success coordinator at Walnut Creek Middle School.

"She brings outstanding leadership experience, a deep understanding of our district and a genuine love for the Meadowbrook community," continued Dr. Lonze. "I know she will continue to build on the strong traditions that make Meadowbrook such a special place for students, staff and families."
“Mrs. Kelty has demonstrated a strong commitment to student achievement, staff collaboration and continuous school improvement,” said Ali Hamka, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. “Her leadership experience, instructional expertise and deep connections to the Meadowbrook community make her an excellent choice to serve as the next principal of Meadowbrook Elementary.”
